FURNITURE SELECTION & INTERIOR STYLING SYDNEY
Make your home feel like you
Bring warmth, character and a sense of belonging to your home.
THE LAST STEP OF RENOVATIONS – OR THE FIRST STEP OF A NEW LIFE
Turn your house into a home

Before styling

After styling
A renovation with beautiful materials and carefully planned spaces transforms how a home
functions, but many homes still feel unfinished after the building work is complete.
At INSIDESIGN, most of our furnishing and styling clients have just finished renovations with us
and this is the last step to make the house feel like a home. Furnishing combined with
renovations it the most efficient way to do it: we can prepare everything ready in advance and
have all new furniture and accessories delivered in one go.
Some clients get in touch when buying a new home where the old furniture doesn’t suit or fit,
when they don’t quite know what to do with the rooms – or they don’t have time to organise it all.

Some clients want to replace all the old furniture after big life changes, or after the kids grow old
enough so that they can justify having nice furniture again. (Blog Post: Switched Rooms)
STYLING CREATES AN ATMOSPHERE
Layers make a difference
The same room can feel calm, welcoming,
energetic, sophisticated or relaxed
depending on how it is furnished and
layered.
Furniture, lighting, rugs, artwork and
decorative objects influence how you
experience a space, often in ways that are
difficult to define but can feel immediately.
The homes people remember are rarely the
ones that look like showrooms. Instead,
they are the homes that tell a story about
the individuals who live there. That’s why we
like including some of your existing furniture
pieces and mementos as part of the
furnishing and styling
HOW DOES FURNISHING PROCESS WORK?
Furnishing is more than just picking a sofa
Creating a unique, memorable home involves far more than selecting individual furniture pieces
at a showroom.
We start with space planning to ensure flow and functionality of each room. We create a colour
palette of the materials and textures to be used and order physical samples of them for you to
see and touch. We create mood boards and renderings to confirm that all selections work
together. We include a colour that evokes a particular memory or design a custom piece for a
specific purpose. We review your existing items and plan how we can mix your favourite artwork,
or the inherited vintage chair with the new items.
Then we add the specifications of furniture, lighting, artwork, window treatments, soft furnishing
and accessories to our online tool where you can view and approve them at your leisure.
We assist you with furniture sourcing, specification, procurement and delivery co-ordination.
We specify the window treatments and make work orders for custom cushions. We organise
upholstering or repairing of existing furniture pieces that are to be kept. We receive the furniture
on your behalf and deal with deficiencies. We organise the installation of artworks, rugs and
curtains and make sure they all are placed exactly right.
Then we bring in a carful of décor items and style your home to perfection. We might get a
photographer in to take magazine-worthy photos. We let you choose to keep or return the final
accessories. After all this, we want your home to tell a story about the individuals who live there.
WHY WORK WITH A DESIGNER?
Make significant decisions with confidence
Furniture, lighting, rugs, artwork and window furnishings often represent a substantial
investment.
The right piece will enhance a room for many years. Choose a wrong one, and it can be
expensive to replace and difficult to live with. Scale, comfort, proportion, quality and suitability
all matter just as much as appearance.
We help you navigate these decisions with confidence so that you don’t need to second-guess
your investment. We will help you to select pieces that suit your home and continue to perform
for years to come.
We source many items from trade-only suppliers, custom furniture makers and specialist
manufacturers, which opens opportunities that are not available through retail channels. We
work transparently and share the trade discount with our clients.
